Modular SFC is an instrument design and development company founded in 2007. The company's goal is to provide scientists and researchers with novel benchtop laboratory instruments to speed Flash LC, HPLC and SFC purification processes. The company is currently shipping the Centrifan Recirculating Evaporator and CFC-3 Simultaneous Fraction Collector and Evaporator.

Bert Hedberg, Founder and President
Company founder and president, Bert Hedberg, has been involved in scientific instrument design, engineering, and manufacturing for over 30 years. He has led design and engineering efforts on a number of new products at leading instrument manufacturers including Waters Corporation, Autochrom, Accutek, and Cetek Corporation. Most recently, he developed and patented a high throughput Capillary Electrophoresis screening platform for drug discovery at Cetek.

Early in his career, he was a design team member of the Waters M6000 Solvent Delivery System and the PrepLC 500 Preparative Chromatography System. At Autochrom he designed a popular product line of HPLC automation accessories.

Bert received his BSEE in 1973 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and earned his MBA in Finance and New Ventures in 1980 at Northeastern University.
